Would this work with the contents of a mince pie instead of mincemeat? Is it the same thing?

I've not tried but i don't see why not.

Made this with the Black Cow Christmas spirit vodka and no mincemeat. It kinda worked.

I'm not from UK so I was really confused when I saw mincemeat. I thought that raw ground meat is needed for this recipe. But then still, for mincemeat, is there meat in this case?

Traditionally, mincemeat contains beef or venison, but few modern recipes contain meat. It's a mixture of chopped apples, dried fruit, spices, sugar and vinegar.

Tried this one on Boxing Day & it proved a hit with one & all - having a mini mince pie accompanying it just added Christmas flavour… oh & we also added some nutmeg - bravo!!

We tried this last night during a get together with our neighbor. There is virtually NO mincemeat to be had this year (2023, we’re going to make our own later) so we left it out. Topped each glass with grated fresh nutmeg and it was an instant hit!!! Loved this!!!

Thanks for sharing your review, Emily. I've got this on my long list for Christmas Day but I've yet to make it, so your review is super helpful. Hoping my mother-in-law likes it!!!
