Serve in an Old-fashioned glass

Ingredients:
2 oz Tennessee whiskey
23 oz Cointreau triple sec liqueur
23 oz Lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
14 oz Monin Pure Cane Syrup (65.0°brix, equivalent to 2:1 rich syrup)

How to make:

  1. Select and pre-chill an Old-fashioned glass.
  2. Prepare garnish of orange zest twist.
  3. SHAKE all ingredients with ice.
  4. STRAIN into ice-filled glass.
  5. EXPRESS orange zest twist over the cocktail and use as garnish.

History:

A riff on the classic 'Silent Third' cocktail first published in the 1937 Cafe Royal Cocktail Book. Originally made with Scotch whisky but perhaps not so silent with rock 'n' roll Tennessee whiskey.
