Drip 5 drops of olive oil on top

How to make:

SHAKE all ingredients with ice and fine strain into chilled glass. (There's no need to muddle basil if good ice and shake are used.)

3 fresh Basil leaves
1 2/3 fl oz Bacardi Carta Blanca
1/3 fl oz Mastiha liqueur
2/3 fl oz Lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
1/3 fl oz Sugar syrup 'rich' (2 sugar to 1 water, 65.0°Brix)

History:

Lebanese Bacardí Legacy 2015 winning cocktail by Jad Ballout, Bar Manager at Central Station Boutique Bar in Beirut, Lebanon.

My cocktail is inspired by Dale DeGroff's 'Whiskey Smash' and Joerg Meyer's 'Gin Basil Smash.' It represents Don Facundo's sweet and sour life. The olive oil floating on top of the cocktail symbolizes both the Mediterranean and Don Facundo's first homemade rum that he used to sell in recycled olive oil tins.

"My cocktail is a mix between Latin and Mediterranean cultures so I have called it 'El Mediterráneo'.
