Hazardous ingredients

Orgeat (almond) sugar syrup (2:1) is potentially hazardous to those with allergy or intolerance.

Review:

Fresh dill nestles with rich almond, balanced by a touch of zesty citrus, aromatised by fino sherry with rum playing a fortifying role.

History:

UK Bacardí Legacy 2015 winning cocktail created by Ally Martin at Peg + Patriot in London, England.

The 'Young Cuban' draws inspiration from those who are now legends amongst bartenders, as well as paying homage to traditional cocktail idols such as Professor Jerry Thomas (who created the first cocktail book in 1862) or Harry Craddock (the author of the 1930 The Savoy Cocktail Book).

Ally Martin, 2015

"It is a drink that seeks to honour the modern-day cocktail culture, the bartending trailblazers of the 21st Century and those who continually take what we do and raise it to new heights, aiming to push boundaries just as Bacardí has since 1862.""

Alcohol content:

  • 1.2 standard drinks
  • 18.25% alc./vol. (36.5° proof)
  • 17.3 grams of pure alcohol
