Review:

An equal parts riff on a Doctor No.1 using white wine acidity in place of lime juice. Tangy and slightly sharp in flavour with more than a hint of Swedish punch funkiness.

History:

Created by yours truly as a thank you to Doctor Salt, who was left in a "pother of Whovian pedantry" due to my misspelling of another good Doctor's name on our Cocktail of the Day for 23rd November 2017. The actor who portrayed the first Dr Who is William Hartnell (not Hartness), who incidentally also played Sgt Grimshaw in the first-ever Carry-On film, Carry on Sergeant.

I really like swedish punsch, and this cocktail is dominated by that unique liqueur. The rum amplifies the swedish punsch, but I don't know what the sauvignon blanc is doing - very hard to pick out the wine flavor notes. Regardless, I think this is a great way to enjoy swedish punsch, and I highly recommend!

Excellent blend of flavours. We had it as an evening sipper and it was outstanding. Loved the funky rum flavour.
Thanks Simon for another amazing cocktail.
