History:

Columbian Bacardí Legacy 2018 winning cocktail by Gonzalo 'Chalo' Marin at Monsieur Cucu in Bogota.

Asere - a Cuban expression meaning friendship, camaraderie, and bonding - is a cocktail that is powerful enough to convey all of these emotions. My cocktail reflects the essence of this industry and what it is to imbibe: the art of celebration.

The cocktail seeks to highlight the wood-aged BACARDÍ 'Ocho' rum with an aroma of Oloroso sherry, bringing a hint of acidity from the balsamic vinegar and the aftertaste of fresh coffee.

I tried looking this up online, but found nothing... "1/2 dried" coffee beans I interpreted as 1/2 tbsp. I don't see how they make much impact stirred, but I do feel like I tasted coffee in the background... I also subbed in El Dorado 8, 2.5 ml amontillado, and a spritz of Islay. So I don't know how true this is to the original... Interesting drink for sure. Worth checking out. (11 Jan 2024, 7:24a)

It's an old recipe and one I'd not yet tried but I'd also interpret as half a tbsp. of beans. I have come across this in other recipes, and it's surprising how flavours from the beans infuse into a cocktail.
