History:

Created in 2018 and the German Bacardí Legacy 2019 winning cocktail by André Kohler, Ory Bar in Munich.

Ascético is inspired by the complexity that simple pure ingredients can have, such as the complex sweetness and aroma of a wine whose grapes matured for longer and the beautiful floral notes of elderflower. Most of all, the most 'simple' Bacardí rum: Carta Blanca, with its light notes of vanilla and citrus. I wanted to enhance and bring out these aromas and to create a drink that changes with the bartenders that mix it, like a Martini cocktail - to create a new experience for guests around the world.

Did the recipe actually call for white balsamic? Traditional balsamic gives it a cola color (and an barely acceptable taste).

The original recipe passed to me by Bacardi doesn't state, but I agree with you that white balsamic would be better for both taste and appearance, so I have amended the recipe acordingly.

Really interesting! I came to it through my love for Riesling. So I doubled its part. I used 2cl Riesling and 4cl Bacardi. It's a little bit of with the acidity, but with this name this shouldn't be the problem! A dry and balanced cocktail.
