I've been looking forward to trying this cocktail and finally opened up a bottle of Asti to try it. It didn't disappoint. Lovely flavour of citrus and herb. Very sweet though.
I added the Asti to the first four ingredients (shaken and strained) after assuming that the directions hadn't taken the fizz into account.
Not sure what the salted absinthe garnish added as I couldn't taste anything from it. Perhaps I didn't use enough.

Not a cocktail I've made yet, hence the lack of a Difford's Guide rating. You're right about the method, which I've now amended to account for the sparkling wine.
