I always thought that no cognac cocktail could be better than a sidecar. This proved me wrong! Absolut perfect balance of sweet, sour, herbal and fruity.

I didn't have any cognac, but I did have some Armagnac. I like it, but it has notable sweetness, so I too thought this would be too sweet.

But no, it is quite nice.

Also tried one replacing the cognac with a split mezcal/seales 10 yr old rum. This has been a great go to for a lot of sours for me, and it’s really great here.

Agree with the other comments. This was definitely not as sweet as I was expecting. Nice citrus tones and the herbal honey flavours from the DOM. Would have again.

Yum! I agree with JH — these are deceptively easy to quaff. This would be a great introductory drink for those looking to get into spirit-heavy, Prohibition-style cocktails. I’ll be adding it to my regular rotation!

Very sweet at first then gets better. Like Crêpes Suzette in a glass! I’d have it again if having a single dessert cocktail.

Now that is a nice cocktail.
Less demanding than I thought it would be and very easy to drink.
