Serve in an Old-fashioned glass

Ingredients:
2 oz Light gold rum (1-3 year old molasses column)
1 oz Dubonnet/French rouge aromatised wine
0.08 oz Luxardo Maraschino liqueur
1 dash Angostura Aromatic Bitters
× 1 1 serving

How to make:

  1. Select and pre-chill an Old-fashioned glass.
  2. Prepare garnish of skewered Luxardo Maraschino Cherry.
  3. STIR all ingredients with ice.
  4. STRAIN into ice-filled glass (preferably over a large cube or chunk of block ice).
  5. Garnish with skewered cherry.

Review:

This is the first cocktail (out of scores) on here I've wanted sweeter to balance; we always reduce sweeter ingredients - but agree with others, increase the Maraschino

Very flavourful digestive or evening sipper. Does benefit with a bit of time to breathe. Explosion of flavours.

I made this yesterday (Feb 21) to mark the anniversary of the publication of the Communist Manifesto (thinking of workers of the world uniting etc.). Hi Simon, I did it by stirring, rather than shaking. I felt, it needed more maraschino, so I put around 5 ml. Can’t see coming back to this but I enjoyed it.
