Patrón Perfectionists 2021-22

The pursuit of perfection is something practiced by "perfectionists" so is an apt name for a competition designed to find and celebrate the best cocktail and its bartender creator. After two days of competition, Harrison Kenney of Cantina OK!, Sydney was crowned winner at the 2022 Patrón Perfectionists Cocktail Competition.

The global final was held at Hacienda Patrón, Mexico, on 2nd and 3rd June 2022 and Harrison presented the winning cocktail, Teal, alongside the creations of 14 other competitors from around the world (ready about each of the 15 finalists and their recipes below).

For this year's Patrón Perfectionists, simplicity was the key to perfection with the competitors' challenged to create cocktails that can be replicated in any bar or home bar from a list of globally available ingredients.

This year's Patrón Perfectionists edition has been innovated with a digital format providing contestants with a global online stage to further showcase their skills.

Over 1,700 bartenders entered the first digital round and this was narrowed down to 10 finalists from each country with the help of over 30,000 online votes by cocktail loving consumers. While national finals where hosted and broadcast virtually, the global final honoured the long-standing tradition of travelling to Hacienda Patrón, in Atotonilco El Alto, Jalisco, Mexico.

The finalists competed in front of a panel of industry expert judges including David Rodriguez (Patrón Master Distiller), Giulia Cuccurullo (Head Bartender at London's Artesian and 2020 Patrón Perfectionists Global Winner), Adam Teeter (CEO of VinePair), and Anny Barrera (Head Bartender at Semillón, San José del Cabo, Mexico).
