A French-brewed rhubarb flavoured beer. The label list the ingredients as being: "water, barley malts, rhubarb juice, hops, yeast".
Sampled on 21/10/2011
Cloudy, pale straw yellow with thin beige head.
Fruity-vegetal nose does indeed have a whiff of tinned rhubarb to it but for those not reading the ingredients this could easily be mistaken for red apple skin.
Fruity palate is perhaps more red berry fruit than it is red rhubarb. Well-judged malt and hop flavours balance the sweet rhubarb making this a not too obviously flavoured beer.
Yeasty, apple and ripe raspberry finish.
