The quote the bottle of this American oak wood chip aged ale, "this is an aggressive ale. You probably won't like it. It is quite doubtful that you'll have the taste or sophistication to be able to appreciate an ale of this quality and depth."
The bottle goes on to ask, "The arrogant bastard wood. Would you?"
Sampled on 01/05/2012
Clear, very dark reddy brown with thick lasting head leaving heavy lacing.
Toffee, nougat, caramel and oaky tobacco with vanilla.
Resin-like, dry, strong pine and floral hops, caramel sugars, grapefruit zestyness and lightly spiced oak.
Bitter, pine hoppy-ness and lingering smoky oak.
