Lunched in October 2004 and packaged in the distinctive Gordon's D-shaped bottle, Gordon's Distiller's Cut was distinguished by clear rather than green glass. But what really set it apart was the addition of lemon grass and ginger to the usual Gordon's botanical line up. Withdrawn from sale 2009.

At the time of its launch in October 2004, Gordon's Distiller's Cut was described by its marketeers as the "latest work of art in The Gordon's Collection". To quote the label, "crafted with quadruple distillation and cut with select aromatics".

In April 2005, Diageo launched a UK print and poster campaign for Distiller's Cut using colours to convey meaning with bright green grass on a yellow background and the tagline: "Cut with lemongrass and ginger. Gordon's Distiller's Cut". Known as the 'Colourful Gin', this campaign this ran throughout 2005.

Sadly despite the Gordon's name and Diageo's marketing clout Distiller's Cut was quietly withdrawn from the market in 2009.

Αξιολόγηση

Η γευσιγνωσία έγινε στις 14/07/2012

Όψη:

Crystal clear.

Μύτη:

Lemongrass is most obvious on the pine-fresh nose with ginger smelling more of ginger cake than root ginger.

Στόμα:

Clean, juniper led palate with fresh lemon grass flavours very evident and ginger spice emerging.

Επίγευση:

Lemon grass flavours linger in what remains a classically juniper-led Gordon's finish.
