This, the fourth Tributo incarnation, launched February 2019 at the Habanos Festival (Havana, Cuba) with only 2,500 bottles available globally.

The 2019 Tributo edition was blended by three generations of Maestros del Ron Cubano, including; Don José Navarro, Primer Maestro del Ron Cubano; Asbel Morales, Maestro del Ron Cubano; and Salomé Aleman, the first and only female Maestra del Ron Cubano. Each one of them selected a rare and extra-aged rum base, representing their own style, and the laid down in the decade of their appointment (1970s, 1990s, 2010s respectively). The bases, including one that has been matured in rare cognac casks, were combined and finally blended again with a rum that has rested for over 25 years in French oak barrels.

Havana Club Tributo 2019 is presented in an off-white wooden box with orange cues evoking the deep, bright, amber colour of the rum. The Cuban star features in the design of the bottle neck and label. Each bottle is numbered, and each box is personalised with the signature of the three Masters.

Appearance:

Clear, mid-deep tawny amber.

Aroma:

Pungent fruity: dried fruit, tropical fruit and stoned fruit (apricot, orange, dried fruits and raisins), with caramel, treacle and vanilla. Light clove, cinnamon spice and wood varnish.

Taste:

Medium-bodied. Pronounced fruit dried by oak tannins with ripe apricot, zesty orange and toasted walnuts.

Aftertaste:

Medium to long. Oaky with light white pepper spice, cigar leaf and crème caramel.

Overall:

Authentically Cuban in style with pronounced dried fruit, tropical fruit and stoned fruit toned and dried by oak tannins, clove spice and boat yard varnish.
