Admiral Rodney is distilled from 100% continuous still rums, aged six to fifteen years in used American whiskey casks (average 12 years). This is considered St. Lucia Distillers' flagship rum and only 2,500 cases are produced annually.
Presented in a square decanter-style bottle topped with an attractive polished wooden stopper, this rum is named after Admiral George Brydges Rodney, the British admiral who famously won the battle of the Saints in 1782. This was the crowning victory of a long naval career and was an important battle, which saved Jamaica and ruined French naval prestige in the Caribbean. After the battle Rodney wrote: "Within two little years I have taken two Spanish, one French and one Dutch admirals."
