Εμπνευσμένο από μία συνταγή του Harry Craddock η οποία αναγράφεται στο The Savoy Cocktail Book του 1930. Η αυθεντική συνταγή ζητά 1/4 triple sec, 3/4 βότκα και 1 dash από μπλε χρώμα ζαχαροπλαστικής. Η ίδια συνταγή αναγράφεται και στο The Official Mixer's Manual του Patrick Gavin Duffy, το οποίο εκδόθηκε το 1934.
