Serve in a Boston & shot glass

Ingredients:
1 pint Pilsner lager
12 oz Disaronno amaretto
12 oz White overproof rum (unaged Jamaican/funky)
× 1 1 serving

How to make:

  1. Select a Boston & shot glass.
  2. POUR beer into Boston glass.
  3. LAYER amaretto and rum in chilled shot glass by carefully pouring amaretto and then rum.
  4. IGNITE the rum and carefully lift shot glass then drop (bottom first) into Boston glass. PLEASE EXERCISE EXTREME CAUTION!

History:

So named as the end result resembles the taste of the proprietary Dr. Pepper soft drink. This drink inspired an episode of The Simpsons featuring a similar drink titled the 'Flaming Homer' and later the 'Flaming Moe' (after the program's bartender).

I forgot to pick up Wray & Neph. Ended up doing 1:1 split of Hamilton 151 and Plantation 3 Star in its place. Bitburger... The ignition never took. Dropped the shot anyway. Tasted good . Didn't quite taste like the Dr. though (24 Feb 2024, 10:44a)

Thought I'd make one just to see. Really wish I hadn't. Pilsner warmed (and mostly ruined) by flaming overproof rum, and the amaretto is just salt in the wound at that point

Fun drink, but normally it's 1/2 pint beer and 3 parts amaretto to 1 part overproof spirit.
