London’s most vibrant, exciting and cocktail-drenched week is nearly ready to kick off. Yes, London Cocktail Week is upon us again, and from October 6th till 12th the city will be taken over by drink enthusiasts, bartenders and cocktail lovers alike. From education to expertly mixed creations London Cocktail Week 2014 will have it all.
Now in its fifth year, LCW is expected to reach more consumers and trade than ever before. Hosted in Covent Garden's Seven Dials, the week will see seminars on mixology, pop-up bars and parties.
Wristbands are already on sale to the public (£10 to consumers in advance of the week, £15 once the week begins) which give you access to a range of facilities including £4 cocktails in most of the city's cocktail bars. As in previous years wristbands are free for the trade.
This is the first year of LCW, however, that Difford's Guide isn't the direct owner, having sold it earlier this year. Despite this we're still firmly behind the festival and the team. As such you'll be seeing as across the week attending a range of events and, most excitingly, running our Pisco Punch bar, made possible by the good folk at Peru Trade & Investment Office.
It's a well-known fact that here at Difford's Guide HQ we have our very own, and incredibly well-stocked, bar. It's here we tinker with recipes and test out modifications. This year at LCW, for the very first time, we'll be hosting our own bar in conjunction with Lima Floral, the Peruvian restaurant and bar in Covent Garden.

200 of the best bars across the capital will be throwing open their doors to offer bespoke and unlimited £4 cocktails throughout the week for those wearing wristbands.
This year, for the first time, LCW are also promoting The Luxe List in association with Belvedere Vodka. For this six exclusive bars in Mayfair will be opening their doors to offer a Signature Serve at the reduced rate of £8 per cocktail, available with a booking only.
Wristbands will be available for collection from any of the London Cocktail Week Hubs once the week begins on 6 October.
The Ketel One Hub in Seven Dials
The Cointreau Hub at Bluebird, King's Road
The Tanqueray Hub at Hixter, Devonshire Square
The Nikka Whisky Hub at TheWhisky Exchange, Borough Market
A list of participating bars can be found here.
The Bartenders' Centre is a theatre space offering back-to-back seminars to members of the drinks industry throughout the festival.
There will be four seminars per day running from Midday until 5.30pm, with topics ranging from The Sloe Drinks Movement, with Jared Brown and Anistatia Miller, to a seminar from the award-winning team at White Lyan.
These seminars are aimed at working bartenders, will cost £10 to attend, with all profits going to The Bartender's Best Scholarship Trust.
Alongside the theatre space, there will be a cross-branded pop-up bar, which - as well as having a full menu of £4 cocktails for wristband wearers, will play host to more intimate and informal training sessions throughout the day.
Once again, Bacardi Brown Forman Brands training team will be taking a space in the heart of LCW's hub of Seven Dials to offer back to back training sessions for all their brands.
London Cocktail Week will be rammed with a full schedule of events aimed at both members of the drinks trade and consumers. Click here for the London Cocktail Week events page.
