The Stauning distillery is located near the west coast of Denmark near the small village of Stauning, hence the distillery’s name. This is an agricultural area and the distillery uses locally produced barley, rye and peat.
Every process production process takes place in-house including malting of both rye and barley grains. Stauning operate two 400 litre copper wash stills and two 200 litre copper spirit stills.
The first dilation at the distillery was in August 2006
