Known as ‘La Grane Dame de la Champagne, Madame Clicquot's astute purchases of Grand Cru vineyards still form the backbone of the company’s holdings which run to some 360 hectares of vineyards spread nearly half of the best Grand and Premier Crus. The company’s vineyards are planted with 47% Chardonnay, 42% Pinot Noir and 11% Pinot Meunier.
In recent decades Veuve Clicqot merged with Canard-Duchêne before being taken over by the LVMH Group.
