Review

As anyone who's ever visited one of his many international outposts knows, Jason Atherton - and his bars manager, Gareth Evans - understands the value of a good bar. And this tiny speakeasy style affair, set behind one-way glass out the back of the eponymous Spanish bodega, has style in spades.

Besides the eponymous jamón, an impressive range of sherry includes 70-odd by the bottle and 15 by the glass, while the menu features some super-serviceable cocktails. Folded into four, with each fold housing different lists, the paper opens up into a map of the world, scattered with creative cocktails from all over the globe. Pine liqueur celebrates the fjords of Scandinavia; infused Mekhong whisky does duty for Thailand.

The look is industrial, with plenty of steel, a little ceramic, and only a few intimate tables. You'll want to reserve at weekends.
