Lying in the village-like back streets of Pimlico, a five-minute stroll from Victoria station, The Warwick is a Victorian mid-terrace boozer that has been gastrofied with the requisite chesterfield leather sofas, mismatched wooden tables and token church pew. A choice of three ales on draught leads an adequate beer offering. The wine selection is also good but not outstanding and there’s a fair range of spirits. The well-spiced Bloody Mary is worthy of praise.

The food offering, from bar snacks to full-blown meals, is well above average and extends to a dedicated first floor dining room. Mainstay gastro pub dishes – steaks, burgers and fish & chips sit on the appealing menu alongside the likes of “Confit Pheasant Tortelloni” with wild mushrooms, burnt butter & tarragon. The hand-cut chips are not to be missed – superbly crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The kitchen is open daily from noon to 3pm and 5:30pm to 10:30pm with traditional roasts on Sundays.
