Review

"Beer is proof God loves us and wants us to be happy". This quote by Abraham Lincoln is as good a way as any to start a bar's drinks menu, but to continue with the likes of Liberty Ale, Goose Island, Flying Dog, Brooklyn Lager and Sierra Nevada is simply fabulous. Incidentally that last American beer is also one of the numerous draught options. The menu goes on to list seven bourbon cocktails before moving onto where the Lexington really excels - bourbons, all 53 of them. Of course for the uninitiated there is also some wine.

Despite purple velvet drapes, chintzy lamp shades, crystal chandeliers and flock wallpaper, this revamped corner boozer is probably not the place to take your granny - that is unless of course she is into indie bands and wears black leggings and a miniskirt. While there is a well-stocked duke box in the downstairs lounge one of the big draws here is the upstairs live music venue.

This bar's US influence extends to the food so expect burgers, ribs, nachos and the like.
