Alchemist Cocktail Development Jedi
Primary focus of the role is through development of the cocktail menu and drinks specials in collaboration with Head of Bars, The Alchemist Bar Tenders, The Brand Team and brand partners.
Overall aim of the role is to increase guest retention through offer and quality of experience and therefore increase bar sales.
3 days a week the individual should be self-motivated and focused on research into industry techniques, to include industry research, weekly visit to a competitor's venue or industry site with a report produced and measurable results.
Working 2 days a week in a venue alongside our talented Alchemist Bartenders developing and supporting techniques and service style and maintaining clear understanding of venue reality and challenges.
Menu choices should be made based on a balance of creativity, efficiency, cost effectiveness as well as wow and quality of product. The relationship between quality of product and cost of product should be at the forefront of this individual's work.
External brand relationships are important and they should work for The Alchemist & the supplier, their ultimate goal being the growth of the business through relationships.
These should be considered and on brand, compromise on both sides is important and the individual should always remember that we don’t sell something if there’s no why in a drink.
Inspiration should not always be taken from industry competition, as original inspiration is far more likely to be taken from unlikely sources in the arts, sciences, nature and from the most unexpected of places.
• Using science, research, learning and relationships to continue to grow a world class menu for the Alchemist bar.
• Developing smoke and mirrors at speed.
• Increase bar sales by 2.5% YOY.
Everyday job to involve:
Weekly 2 shifts on the bar around the weekend. Self managing, going where the work is.
Mondays or Tuesdays and Sundays off. 1 day a week looking for external inspiration from the industry or other sources. To be reported weekly. 2 days a week working in office or bar environment on cocktail development.
Will have an understanding of the requirements of bar signoffs.
Coordinating menu launches, costing menus and executing till pricing.
Being ready to say yes to partner opportunities, trips and events as an ambassador of The Alchemist.
£27000-£32000 dependent on experience. Ideally Manchester based.
