A limited edition seasonal line extension to classic Beefeater gin based on the original Beefeater botanical recipe with the addition of floral botanicals such as elderflower, hibiscus and blackcurrant. Launched May 2010, Beefeater Summer was created by Beefeater's Master Distiller, Desmond Payne.
Beefeater Summer is packaged in Beefeater's usual clear square bottle but decorated with floral images.
Sampled on 15/07/2012
Crystal clear.
Laveder bouquet of original Beefeater is replaced by floral aromas, particuarly hibiscus with blackcurrant berry notes also evident.
Less citrussy than is usual for Beefeater with superbly integrated flavours which present as a unified force making it hard to distinguish the individual contributions of the elderflower, hibiscus and blackcurrant that set this gin apart from original Beefeater.
Blackberry emerges in a reassuringly predominant piney juniper finish. A master class in gin formulation by Desmond Payne.
