A red aperitivo liqueur in the style of a rosso vermouth but based on neutral sprit (rather than wine) infused with bitter and sweet orange, gentian root, quinine, calissaia and vanilla. Some vermouth is blended with the infusion. Traditionally served as an aperitivo with soda and a lemon peel.

Appearance:

Clear, bright scarlet red.

Aroma:

Beyond the initial spice lies a fruity orange juice and zest, gentian and a vegetal aroma akin to putting your nose in a bag of boiled sweets.

Taste:

Lightly bitter with spice and sweetness well-balanced. The fruit from the nose translates into (mainly) cherry with cream of soda vanilla.

Aftertaste:

Quinine and orange zest are more evident in the long, slightly sweet finish with cream of soda vanilla and dry herbal spice.
