To quote the label, "Rowan's Creek takes its name from the creek that still runs through our little distillery. Back in the late 1700s when John Rowen settled about these parts whiskey making was the order of the day. John went on and made a name for himself as well respected judge and statesman."

Review and Tasting

Sampled on 01/04/2012

Appearance:

(batch QBC No. 11-28) Clear, coppery amber.

Aroma:

Peanut butter, poached pear, old oak wardrobe and lemon and orange zestyness.

Taste:

(diluted back to approx. 43%) Very slightly sweet. The peanut butter found on the nose continues, perhaps with more of a brazil nuttiness on an integrated corn-on-the-cob, silky, lightly caramel palate with very delicate spice.

Aftertaste:

Lingering nutty and caramel finish.
