Gueuze is a type of Belgian lambic beer made by blending one year old and two - three year-old oak cask aged lambics with unaged lambic ale and undergoes secondary fermentation in the bottle. Mariage Parfait translates as 'perfect marriage'.

First brewed in 1978, this is the crown jewel of the Boon range.

Review and Tasting

Sampled on 23/04/2012

Appearance:

Cloudy, sand-coloured, yellow-orange amber with a lasting thick white head with light lace.

Aroma:

Fermenting tropical zesty citrus fruit and acidity with whiffs of urea.

Taste:

Tart, sour unripe apricot and mandarin zest/concentrated marmalade with citric acidity and faint dry oak.

Aftertaste:

Sour and slightly acidic with lingering tart citrus zest. This is an easy going Geuze but it will still only appeal to those with an acquired taste.
