‘Cockney’ is the name given to a Londoner born within earshot of Bow Bells, the bells of St Mary-le-Bow at the top of London’s Bow Lane and indeed this brand of gin was first distilled in 1838 in Ghent, Belgian by a travelling Londoner.

Appearance

Crystal clear.

Aroma

Cracked black pepper, pungent pink grapefruit, lime and mandarin orange zest with orange flower and rose water. Water reveals traditional juniper, coriander and angelica root with the coriander being particularly pronounced.

Taste

Dry piney juniper, cracked black pepper and pronounced zesty citrus with coriander, angelica and faint parma violet.

Aftertaste

Lingering black pepper, piney juniper, parma violet and coriander.

Overall

Pronounced black pepper spice with pink grapefruit, lime and mandarin orange zest sit over a traditional base of juniper, coriander and angelica root.
