Appearance:

(sample bottle 1985 vintage) Clear, pale to mid-golden amber.

Aroma:

Very aromatic with buttery floral aromas, cream-of-soda vanilla, tobacco leaf and very mild spice.

Taste:

Slightly sweet honeyed grape juice, vanilla, honeysuckle and dry spicy buttery oak.

Aftertaste:

Buttery oak, red grapes, black pepper, drying tannins and long lingering spice.

Overall:

Wonderfully aromatic with buttery floral notes throughout, rich vanilla is balanced by spicy woody tannins.
