Review and Tasting

Sampled on 31/07/2016

Appearance:

Cloudy, deep amber with thick retentive creamy ivory white head and heavy lacing.

Aroma:

Aromatic pine, orange and grapefruit hops.

Taste:

Medium-bodied. Pine, citrus and floral hop flavours but mildly bitter with restrained hop resins. Hop flavours layer over an attractive bready malty base.

Aftertaste:

Dry and moderately bitter. Toasty bready malt with pine, citrus and floral hops.

Overall:

Four different hops contribute to this dark amber IPA’s flavour. The hops are assertive but Darkside is balanced rather than overly hopped with good bready maltiness.
