Made by infusing apricot pulp in neutral alcohol, the recipe dates back to 1935 when the city of Rome organised a grand exhibition where this liqueur won a competition to create a new Italian liqueur. Luxardo Apricot was awarded the title "Liquore della Lupa" (the liqueur of the Roman she-wolf).

Appearance:

Clear, deep coppery amber.

Aroma:

Fresh ripe apricot and apricot jam with faint toasted almond and light spice.

Taste:

Rich concentrated fresh apricot and apricot jam with mild cinnamon spice.

Aftertaste:

Long dried apricot and toasted almond finish. Faint overripe banana.

Overall:

A very high quality apricot brandy with a premium 30% alc./vol. strength. Brilliantly suited to use in cocktails.
