The Kasc Project explores previously untried methods of aging whiskey in hybrid casks, in the case of batch #1 a blend of grain and malted barley matured in casks constructed using staves from five different trees: Portuguese oak, American oak, French oak, Hungarian oak and chestnut.

(sample bottle Batch #01). Clear, golden amber.
Pencil shavings, nutmeg, vanilla, honey and clove with pineapple, stewed apple and raisins.
Dry charred oak, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla fudge and caramel with raisin, fig, dried pineapple, aniseed, citrus and chocolate.
Long, dry, heavily oak influenced finish with more Christmassy spice and dried fruits.
A relatively young whiskey with a maturity beyond its years in cask produce a whisky with upfront toasted oak, cinnamon and clove spice overwhelming dried, citrus and tropical fruit.
