Review and Tasting

Sampled on 20/06/2023

Appearance:

Clear, coppery amber lasting thin white head.

Aroma:

Crusty and doughy white bread with faint grassy hops and touch of tinned sweetcorn.

Taste:

Light-bodied. Crisp and dry with malt and corn. Mild hop bitterness and a cleansing bit from the carbonation.

Aftertaste:

Corn notes last into the short finish.

Overall:

A mild-flavoured, well-made inoffensive beer that's suited to the hot climate where it's brewed. I have fond memories of enjoying this lager after my weekly squash match against Manuel, a very talented Spanish chef who worked close to where I lived. We were very evenly matched so the winner alternated between England and Spain each week, but the beer remained constant - Manuel would drink nothing else other than Estrella Galicia.
