How to make:
MUDDLE raspberries in base of shaker. Add other ingredients, SHAKE with ice and fine strain into chilled glass.

1 1/2 fl oz | Hayman's London Dry Gin |
3/4 fl oz | Strucchi Dry Vermouth |
3/4 fl oz | Strucchi Rosso Vermouth |
1/6 fl oz | Luxardo Maraschino liqueur |

Looks like fruity disco drink fodder but is actually surprising dry and strong.

Made with strawberries in place of raspberries.
History:
Unknown but in his 1922 Mixing Cocktails, Harry MacElhone credits the Duke of Manchester, William Angus Drogo Montagu (1877-1947). The Bloodhound first appears, in a simple form, in William Boothby's 1907 World Drinks, the, in Tom Bullock's 1917 The Ideal Bartender, and perhaps most notably in in Harry Craddock's 1930 The Savoy Cocktail Book.
BLOODHOUND COCKTAIL.
Harry Craddock, 1930
¼ French Vermouth.
¼ Italian Vermouth.
½ Dry Gin.
2 or 3 Crushed Strawberries.
Shake well and strain into cocktail glass.

- 1.6 standard drinks
- 23.59% alc./vol. (47.18° proof)
- 22.4 grams of pure alcohol
