How to make:
SHAKE all ingredients with ice and fine strain into chilled glass.
1 1/2 fl oz | Hayman's London Dry Gin |
1/2 fl oz | Triple sec liqueur (40% alc./vol.) |
1 fl oz | Pink grapefruit juice (freshly squeezed) |
1/3 fl oz | Lemon juice (freshly squeezed) |
1/3 fl oz | Sugar syrup 'rich' (2 sugar to 1 water, 65.0°Brix) |
3 dash | Rhubarb bitters |
Review:
A White Lady with grapefruit juice and so an extra dash of sugar to balance. Tasty.
History:
Adapted from a recipe created in November 2012 by Tim McCall, then Assistant Bar Manager at the Great Northern Hotel, London. Tim originally christened his new creation Northern Sour but by the time we discovered it at the hotel's Plum + Spilt Milk bar in July 2013 it had been renamed Northern Glow, and even Tim says "the name change is a little better."
