Spritz a chilled glass with Islay whisky (Kaiko used Laphroaig) and set aside. STIR other ingredients with ice and strain into spritzed glass.
Special ingredient #1: Rejuvenated grenadine
* Rejuvenated grenadine
300g pomegranate juice
150g granulated sugar
30g maraska syrup (from jar of maraschino cherries)
60g beet vinegar (from jar of pickled beetroot)
60g oxidised grenache red wine
1 barspoon rosewater
¼ vanilla pod
4 pinch ground allspice (~1g)
6g carob molasses
Place all ingredients in a jar and shake until the sugar is dissolved. Remove the vanilla pod after approx 1hr.
