How to make:
SHAKE all ingredients with ice and fine strain into chilled glass.
1 1/2 fl oz | Light gold rum (1-3 year old molasses column) |
1 fl oz | Strucchi Rosso Vermouth |
1 fl oz | Pink grapefruit juice (freshly squeezed) |
1/6 fl oz | Sugar syrup 'rich' (2 sugar to 1 water, 65.0°Brix) |

There's an interesting play between rum, vermouth and grapefruit which, with the right grapefruit, can be delicious. (Juice ripe pink or red grapefruit.)
History:
This classic Cuban cocktail takes its name from the eponymous island off the Cuban coast which is famed (at least it is in Cuba) for the quality of the grapefruit grown there.
