Campari has announced the first official Negroni Week in the UK...a charitable initiative sponsored by Campari which aims to raise money for good causes while also bringing people together to celebrate this classic cocktail.
Negroni Week runs from 5-11 June 2017.
Bars are invited to sign up at the Negroni Week website.
Negroni Week was first launched in the USA in 2013 with around 100 bars and since then has expanded into 60 countries around the world, including the UK, USA, Canada, Italy, Germany, Australia and Singapore. Last year saw outstanding results and the aim for 2017 is to involve more bars and consumers than ever before.
During the week a series of events will take place to celebrate the Negroni, including guest bartender sessions. Leading bartenders from around the world, some of whom featured in Campari's Red Diaries are taking part, creating their personal riffs on the classic recipe. Jim Wrigley, who represented the UK, will be travelling to Hamburg to work behind the stick with Bettina Kupsa at The Chug Club where he will be serving up his own twisted Negronis as well as Beyond The Veil, his cocktail featured in the Red Diaries Book.
Already close to 200 UK bars are confirmed to take part, including the following:
