Better drinks when you're not drinking - Non alcoholic drinks & their role in the future of the industry
Whether or not you're drinking alcohol, customers in today's bars & restaurants do not want to compromise on taste, atmosphere or experience. This shift is creating one of the biggest opportunities in the drinks industry and a new non alcoholic drinks category.
This session will explore what trends are driving these changing tastes, how brands deliver a great experience to people who are not drinking alcohol, what types of drinks fall into this new category and how can entrepreneurs shape the growth of this emerging category?
Dan Gasper of Distill Ventures along with Iain Griffiths of Mr. Lyan/Trash Tiki will present a new definition of the category, explore where the industry is at today and look to the future.
Winning at Home - how to start strong in your domestic market
The craft spirits industry is expanding with 100's of new brands launching in every country every year. With so much competition, exporting your product has become difficult, so winning at home should be your number one priority!
In this session, you'll hear from four of Europe's successful drinks entrepreneurs as they share their experiences in hiring brand ambassadors, supporting wholesalers and creating innovative trade marketing.
Panellists will be Alex Wolpert, Founder of East London Liquor Company, Miika Lipiainen, Co-founder & CEO of Kyro Distillery, Max Wagner, Co-founder of Belsazar Vermouth and Enno Proff, Gerneral Manager of Ferrand Deutschland with the session being chaired by Dan Gasper of Distill Ventures. See below for speaker bios.
In Your Own Words - how to be brilliant at telling your founder story
Telling your brand story is a uniquely powerful method for entrepreneurs looking to make an impact with their drinks brand.
This session will share the most effective strategies to market brands in today's landscape, as modern consumers are not only interested in the brand - they want to know who makes it, where do they make it and most importantly, why they are making it. As a result, telling your founder story well is the least costly and most impactful way to market your brands effectively in the current landscape.
Attendees will also receive a free copy of the limited edition 'Founder Story' book - a simple and easy-to-use manual designed to spark creative thoughts and encourage entrepreneurs to live, tell and craft their story.

More about the panellists
East London Liquor Company
Alex Wolpert may not be a distiller, but for the past 7 years he's been entrenched in London's spirits scene, working with some of the best products, producers and bartenders in today's industry. Wanting more drink options where provenance and quality didn't mean compromising on price, he launched East London Liquor Company in April 2014 with the idea of opening a distillery back in the heart of the capital's old spirits industry, that produced accessible spirits Londoners would enjoy, without breaking the bank. East London Liquor Company now produces and imports a range of quality spirits including gins, vodka, rum and whisky and serves, not only the London market, but the rest of the UK and beyond.

Kyrö Distillery Company
Miika Lipiäinen is one of the founders and the CEO of Kyrö Distillery Company - a Finnish distillery founded for the sole purpose of distilling beatiful spirits out of rye in Isokyrö, Finland. Kyrö's rye gins, Napue and Koskue were launched in 2014 and have since changed the Finnish gin market and are now available in a number of export markets. Kyrö's first single malt rye whisky has been launched in 2017. In the three years of operation Kyrö has grown sales and production to go above 20 000 9l cases in 2016."
After his business studies in Germany and abroad Maximilian first worked in classic marketing before joining a (back then) small gin distillery in Munich; his entrance into the drinks industry. 2013 he left the gin business and founded Belsazar, together with Sebastian Brack. This company produces the first German vermouth. Maximilian Wagner is here especially responsible for production and organization of internal and external matters.
Dan spent his early years working for some of the world's largest drinks businesses, he then broke away to set up and run his own business and later set about supporting other start ups and growing businesses to help realise their potential. His deep experience in sales and marketing coupled to an encyclopaedic knowledge of the drinks world, means he can help you create brilliant sales strategies and trade marketing activations that will shift the dial.
