Review

The seventh in the Diner chain, this new Spitalfields venue brings classic American dining to the Square Mile. Decked out in traditional diner garb, including red leather booths and plenty of neon lighting, floor-to-ceiling glass walls allow the market scenes outside to unfold before you.

Expect the usual fare of delicious (but probably artery-clogging in large quantities) American classics - hamburgers, dogs and ribs feature strongly. The drinks continue the theme and complement the food well, from boozy milkshakes to alcoholic slushies and iced teas. More recognisable classics are also available, and everything is served with utilitarian gusto - don't expect fancy garnishes, airs and graces. We tried a Creamy Nut hard shake (hazelnut and pistachio ice cream with Bailey's), a G & Tea (gin, tea, elderflower and apple), a classic Margarita and a Whiskey Sour - notably it was the boozy shake that we kept returning to.

Atmospherically it's relaxed and buzzy, with hipster wait-staff channelling an American style of service and apparently enjoying the vibe as much as the customers.
