Review

Ladies that lunch, also shop and drink. Harvey Nichols is one of their favourite places to do all three. Chaps don’t fear. You can avoid trudging through floors of frocks, shoes and handbags as this bar boasts its own entrance and lift giving direct access, even when the store is closed.

Lying alongside the food and wine department, this is a bar to acquire rather than suffer a hangover - it’s a little bright. Neon light shines down from the dazzlingly white slated ceiling. In fact back and white with a slash of claret red and a glint of stainless steel pretty much sums up the colour scheme. Modernism at its starkest, but don’t be put off for here the discerning drinker will find a full and varied drinks menu with “house specialities” such as the ‘Regal Tincture’ with ginger liqueur, lemon juice apple juice and Bénédictine, while the “timeless” section lists popular classics with a modern day variation in the shape of a Tommy's Margarita. Harvey Nic’s own wines naturally feature heavily while the beer selection is surprisingly diverse.

Middle aged ladies obviously form a large section of the clientele, but chaps how bad is that?
