The Temple Bar has returned very much reminiscent of its former self with the classic oak panelled walls and a selection of classic and new cocktails, and small plates.

Review

From the oak panelled walls to the glistening cherrywood bar, from the velvet clad seating to the heavy curtains, Temple Bar has the look and feel of a classic five star hotel bar. Except the crusty old buffers one might expect to find in such a venue have been replaced by professional, savvy 30-somethings.

The bar menu features a selection of classic cocktails and aperitifs with something of an Italian bias. Besides contemporary favourites such as the Saketini and Espresso Martini sit drinks such as the Venetian classic Sgroppino and the Ward Eight cocktail. An ample range of champagnes and wines is followed by an impressive selection of some 70 vodkas listed by country of origin.

Temple Bar has stood the test of time. While it may no longer be über-trendy, those who prefer attentive service and well made drinks to chasing after the fashion pack are wise enough to continue frequenting this classy little bar.
