Review

Set in the middle of the garment district, Le Sentier, is a spacious cocktail lounge bar slightly off the beaten track but is a destination due to its reputation for great drinks, food and atmosphere.

Named after the glass preserving jars that are such a staple of any good kitchen, many of the traditional French dishes served here involve the use of these jars. With their wired-on lids, examples of these jars disfigured by heat also act as distorted light fittings. Set in an old textile factory the utilitarian inspiration for the name turns distinctly industrial for the bar's interior with an eclectic collection of vintage furnishings including a carpenter's workbench positioned in front of a peg board marked with the silhouette of tools.

This bar is the dream of owners Eric Bulteau and Richard Azarnia's and since La Conserverie opened in 2010 it quickly established a cocktail reputation thanks to the efforts of Tim, Paris born Head Barman. He has moved on but has been replaced but the equally talented Joseph.
Be sure to sample the very traditional French food offering.
