Review

Bounce is a ping pong bar and it's loads of fun. The gargantuan basement site on Holborn, which boasts around 20 tables, also lays claim to be the site where the game itself was created and patented - though you might not be convinced by their blue plaque.

Make a reservation for a ping pong table in advance, otherwise be prepared for disappointment or a long wait. But find succour in the well-made cocktails, with the team behind the cocktails at All Star Lanes fronting a new list. The theme is 'homage to gin palace' but the choice covers all spirit categories, there's nothing too challenging and the ethos is that everything is nicely accessible. Homemade touches such as homemade chipotle Ribena and salted caramel agave syrup show you they're imaginative without getting too geeky. Most cocktails are around £8.

Try the pizza, made from a wood-fired oven - better than many dedicated pizza joints. There's a 95-cover restaurant but you can just eat in the bar too. There's a private room, with its own bar and table tennis tables. Unleash your Forrest Gump and let those balls fly! You might even get to play on a table used in the London 2012 Olympics.
