Sampled on 30/05/2016

Appearance

Clear, mid-golden amber.

Aroma

Toasted almond/amaretto, raisins, vanilla and caramel with faint green grape.

Taste

Candied fruit, raisins, almond, caramel, walnut and cream-of-soda vanilla with mild black pepper spice and crystallised ginger.

Aftertaste

Almond, walnut and vanilla with mild black pepper and faint lingering crystallised ginger.

Overall

At around half the price of a three star cognac, this silky easy-drinking French brandy may lack the depth and complexity of more serious brandies but represents great value for money – even at a mere 38% alc./vol..
