Named after Master Brewer, Henry Hobson who wore a traditional ‘coke’ (pronounced cook), best described as the original hardhat worn by manual workers but originally favoured by gamekeepers who wore the hat to protect against being hit on the head by poachers. Appearance

(08-May-13) Very slight haze, coppery amber with thin (half finger) of white head which dissipates to a halo leaving spotted lacing.

Aroma

Blackberry-flavoured boiled sweets and oatmeal with brown sugar, cold tea and faint floral hops.

Taste

Well-balanced malt and hops producing a mildly bitter palate with slight nuttiness and orange zest.

Aftertaste

Lingering cleansing hop bitterness fades with notes of resiny pine.
