Appearance

(sample 2013 vintage, best before Oct/15) Opaque, deep deep brown/ebony with retentive light beige head and heavy lacing.

Aroma

Coal dust, tree bark, liquorice and freshly toasted malty brown bread with candied ginger, nutmeg and clove.

Taste

Heavily roasted/burnt malt, green resinous spruce needles and caramel with mocha coffee, liquorice and nutmeg.

Aftertaste

Vinous spirity finish with lingering coal dust, burnt toast and liquorice.
