Review and Tasting

Sampled on 08/06/2014

Appearance

Clear (when rested and carefully poured), pale-mid golden amber with retentive thick white head and light lacing.

Aroma

Hay bales, yeast and pear with faint lavender.

Taste

Starts sweet and then dries. Bready and spicy with clove, fruity esters and alcoholic bite but the high alcohol content is surprisingly hidden. With the 'soul' added, this abbey triple is altogether richer in flavour with a creamy mouthfeel.

Aftertaste

Dry, tangy and bready with light spice. Great with spicy food.
